“Back to school”
Everyone in my circles are talking “Back to school”!
What kind of Backpack, lunch box, water bottle, water bottle holders – school lists full of everything under the “sun” 
. What to wear for the first day; what’s in and what’s out and on and on…and that’s ok…that’s our culture.
But when you are prepping either as a parent, student, educator, grandparent, aunt or uncle or just watching the neighbor down the street get ready for their new school year…
Did you know there are many children and parents in our Ting Ministries’ family around the 
world crying out for help just to attend school. These families who cry out for school fees to attend also have nothing to purchase even one new outfit or the uniform needed or the books and stationary required. Some don’t have money to purchase lunch and we are not taking school lunch possibilities here in the US. We are talking rice or a piece of bread and a piece of salami.
They are not headed to school with the newest flavor of frappe or coffee concoction – they just want to have the opportunity to learn to read and write.
Education means the possibility of a better life for not just themselves but for their family. It might mean life without slavery and food for everyone each night. It can be a big deterrent for being trafficked if they are being looked for and expected to check in at school every day. Its a luxury and privilege for so many and not a right.
Education is a big deal and it is a highly sought and desired blessing. Our families in the countries where Ting works know its a miracle and a blessing.
This year we have a whole community of gypsy families hoping and believing their children might have the opportunity to go to school this year. We have a family in one country that needs help to have a few new items of clothes, a backpack, pens, paper, notebooks, crayons and food so they might attend school and not be ridiculed and made fun of for being so poor their clothes are old, tattered and worn and sometimes have no lunch.
As a parent here in the US and knowing how difficult this is for children in the States when they are made fun of… this breaks my heart in pieces 
We can do something to prevent this and change this for not just this family but so many.
There are many families in our Ting Ministries family who are begging for help now for their children .
So as you go back to school and you shop and you prepare your new school rooms consider a gift to Ting for these precious ones looking to go to school. Say a prayer for the Lord to move on hearts who have the resources to make education possible for everyone Ting Ministries is working to send to school. Not half of them but everyone of them who asks would be able to receive the help they need.
These are not just numbers or statistics.. These are real lives of brothers and sisters and their children that our Teams love. Our teams are on the ground working day in and day out and these cries are from real people.
