For those who may not know, Ting Ministries started its work in the Philippines.
We provided aid to one little girl, in one orphanage. That little girl is now Avigayil Carpenter, daughter of Brian and Stephanie. Because of her adoption, 30+ former Muslim street boys now have a home with Pastor John’s family. Over 1,300 people recieved medical care through last week’s outreach. Children and refugees were rescued from ISIS. Recognizing the difference Pastor John and our team are making, our TM Philippines team is constantly asked to take in more children wherever they go. It is our largest place of ministry, but remains heavily under-supported.
Many times, our team find people living in terrible situations and our hearts are broken. Pastor John went to visit the grandmother of two children his family has taken in.
There, they found a young girl with a child living in a makeshift tent, in squalor (pictured below). They have taken in these young kids, because their hearts were burdened for them and they listened to God’s call to fulfill James 1:27. “Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of God the Father is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself unpolluted by the world.”
Dear friends, we need your help to continue our ministry in the Philippines and reaching these children with the love of Christ. Prayer is a large part of how we can support one another in the body of Christ. However, meeting practical, tangible needs when confronted with them is an equally important part of our work for the children who are in these desperate situations.
“What good is it, dear brothers and sisters, if you say you have faith but don’t show it by your actions? Can that kind of faith save anyone? Suppose you see a brother or sister who has no food or clothing, and you say, “Good-bye and have a good day; stay warm and eat well”—but then you don’t give that person any food or clothing. What good does that do? So you see, faith by itself isn’t enough. Unless it produces good deeds, it is dead and useless.” ~ James 2:14-17
Pastor John and his wife need our help to continue the work the Lord has placed in front of them. Children and situations like these are not an exception – they are the norm. Ting Ministries has a heart to reach even more, and we plan to build a house in the property next to where Pastor John lives, so that he can continue to take in more children.
