Heartbroken: Ting Ministries Reacts to Adoption News

Psalm 34:18
The Lord is close to the brokenhearted;
he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.
James 1:27
Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you.
Psalm 68:6
God places the lonely in families;
he sets the prisoners free and gives them joy.
But he makes the rebellious live in a sun-scorched land.
Cling to God’s Word!
Heart broken 💔 for all the families who have been waiting for 4 and 1/2 years to bring their children home from China. Heart broken 💔 for all the children longing to be in a family and to be someone ‘s precious treasure!
At the time of Brittan’s adoption there were over 800 children just in her orphanage!
Today I learned that China has completely closed all international Adoptions- even for those children who have families waiting.
Pray for the brokenhearted and for the orphans without a family.
I will hug my babies a little bit tighter and we will continue to pray and trust in the Lord.
Adoption, Annie's Story, China

Happy 22nd Birthday and 8 Years Home, Annie!

What a miracle!! For those who knew and ran with us 8 years ago – yesterday June 28th was not only Annie’s birthday but also the 8th Anniversary of her miracle adoption! It was only by the grace of God that we made it to her before she aged out at 14 years old in China!

Her adoption was an extreme expedite- 6 and 1/2 weeks from start to the day she became our daughter! We almost missed our flight due to sitting on a tarmac in D.C. for over 2 hours blowing through our planned layover time in LA! We rushed to our plane and were the last ones on the flight. Our luggage didn’t make it but we did! We adopted her 8 hours before her 14th birthday( at that time it was the cut off age for adoption in China).

To everyone who prayed and supported us 8 years ago…THANK YOU! GOD MADE A and E for one another! ANNIE AND ELLIANNA became sisters and best friends from the first moment they met when Brian picked us up at the airport in D.C. with Ellianna tagging along! They both have significant special needs and they compliment one another/ help one another and can communicate in their own language- one is deaf and the other struggles to use her hands due to cerebral palsy(making signing difficult) but they have their own language worked out and are a true gift to anyone who knows them. They are hilarious and keep life in the moment!

Thank you God for the miracle of Annie and Ellianna. We have been blessed and had Brian not said ” let’s try it – we can make it to her in China before she ages out” – she would be one of the many orphans who no one would see or bring into their home! She would be a statistic! May the Lord bring another into our lives and home- our hearts have room for another treasure to love! His faith was unwavering! We literally did China adoption everyday for 6 and 1/2 weeks and made 6 trips to NYC for Chinese documents! Praise the Lord and Thank you! Remembering and Praising And HAPPY Birthday 🎂 to our rose! Adoption, Aging Out, Annie's Story, China

From China to Lebanon

September 21st

From China to Lebanon ❤️💙 I was blessed to share the day with Annie, as she came in to share about her experience as an individual with Cerebral Palsy, an English Language Learner, and an adoptee. My students interviewed her during our classes and we even had a table full of new friends to sit with at lunch! Annie enjoyed a small tour and meeting other awesome teachers, admin, staff and students who stopped to say hello! 😊 Tomorrow in class, we will take what we learned and write friendly letters to Annie, showing our appreciation for an awesome day! ⭐ #GoCedars

Annie's Story, China, International Adoption

Happy 20th Birthday, Annie!

6 years ago today Sasha and I were in China completing the miracle adoption of Annie!
The Race to China started 6 and 1/ 2 weeks before Annie turned 14! At that time, 6 years ago, Chinese orphans aged out on their 14th birthday. If you arrived late- even a day after the child’s 14th birthday even because of flight issues it would have been to late for an aging out child. There was no wiggle room for any mistakes or unforeseen circumstances! That child would be forever an orphan and no longer eligible to be adopted.
We only learned of Annie about 8 weeks before her 14th birthday and sensed the Lord say “GO”!
WE HAD NO ADOPTION FUNDS, NO CLEARANCES, NO CURRENT HOME STUDY AND ANNIE DID NOT EVEN HAVE A FILE IN CHINA. At that time an average China adoption would take approximately 8 months to a year or more. Our next adoption of Brittan and Hope a year later took almost 2 years to put the miracle into perspective!
The Lord brought in every penny needed for her adoption and every necessary document and had us on a plane from D.C. to L.A. and then onto Guangzhou and finally to Changsha in less than 7 weeks time. I am not sure there was a single soul who believed we would make it to Annie on time. But God knew and urged us onward. Sasha and I arrived in her City on the 26th and adopted her officially by 5 pm June 27th and she turned 14 at midnight in the 28th.
God did it! There is no other explanation except Him.
Fast forward 6 years- what a gift He has given us in our Hannah “Annie”! The first moment Annie was placed in the van beside Ellianna, upon our arrival home 2 weeks after our finalized adoption in her city – they became best friends and sisters. Ellianna and Annie have remained best friends. God made them for one another. Annie is 4 years older and from China and Ellianna is from Taiwan but we often get asked if they are twins. In personality they are polar opposites. Ellianna is a fireball with never ending energy. Annie is calm and patient and prefers to read to being active all day. Ellianna prefers black and navy colored clothes and Annie prefers pink and sparkly! Annie cognitively is very bright but her body doesn’t want to do what her brain would like( moderate to severe cp) where as Ellianna may not walk or hear ( also cp and brain injury) but her upper body is a powerhouse with very good dexterity. Her brain injury however has affected her ability to read and learn academics. Annie helps Ellinna to sit and do schoolwork and will tell her what to cut and paste and Ellianna can do the fine motor skills. Annie has difficulty feeding herself and Ellianna steps in and lovingly feeds Annie when Annie needs help. They have developed their own type of language and can communicate very well even though Annie’s hands keep her from doing sign language for Ellianna to understand.
Annie was considered an older child for adoption and often times there is fear in adopting an older child. We can not imagine our lives without this beautiful, kind and passionate daughter of ours. She has spunk if needed and patience when needed. She accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior and was baptized last July. She loves to read and listen to sermons on her IPad. She has a card ministry and loves to encourage others by the cards she writes. She asked for a pink study Bible for her birthday.
Annie we celebrate you today!! We celebrate the miracles God has done in your life and in ours by giving you to us in such an extraordinary way. We celebrate your 20th birthday today, tomorrow and all week.
You can help Annie celebrate by giving to those in need. The adoption of children has slowed down terribly since 2020 but there are many that are working to make a difference in the lives of children and needy souls in other ways. I do have some friends also needing prayer for adoptions that are happening but are terribly slow right now.
Annie helps in Ting Ministries by praying and writing!
She asks that in honor of her miracle adoption and her 20th birthday that you would consider a gift to Ting Ministries in her name. She will send every penny to the country that you would choose.
Here are her ministry focuses for prayer this week to which you can donate in her honor:
1. Pakistan – to complete the first ever of the Ting Homes so the Gospel will be preached to the Hindu colony where the homes are being built. $1,000
2. 120 days of feeding the Muslim children living on the streets in the Philippines $2,500
3. To build a shelter in Romania for the rescued animals who were beaten and starved before the Ting Director saved them and to fix the roof of the House of Salvation $2,000

Happy Birthday Annie! Thank you Annie for being a bright light in this dark world!

Happy 13th Birthday, Princess Avigayil “Tin Tin!”

Happy 13th Birthday Princess Avigayil Christina “Avi /Tin Tin”!

There are no words to express the daily agony of missing you. I have a confidence that I will see you again because of Jesus Christ. John 14:3 My assurance and my hope is because my eternal future is secure. I made a personal decision to accept Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior.

Just this week I watched a YouTube video called “Sheep Among Wolves” and attended the showing of “Free Burma Rangers”. Please look both of these up and watch for yourself. This life is not all there is – as a believer in Christ I must live for Him.

As I live without the physical presence of my sweet princess I breathe in deeply and I miss her with every breath. I remember that it was so hard to breathe without her as I waited for her before we adopted her as our daughter. Now I wait for you again on this side of heaven and it is even harder to breathe without you… AND

You are the very essence of love and you smelled of the sweet aroma of Christ. Most missed the gift you were and I am saddened for them because they missed the touch of God on this side of heaven.

We were given a gift by God Himself in you. Most don’t know that you were born from a violent act of rape upon your young 15 year old birth mother and she chose life for you. I pray every day for her healing from her pain and that one day she too will know Jesus as her Lord and Savior and she will know what a gift God gave the world through the daughter she birthed.

Everything about you drew me closer to Our Father in heaven and He continues to use your life to draw me into a deeper fellowship with Himself.

We honor your life by continuing your legacy to be a voice for the voiceless. I remember saying at Avi’s celebration service “Don’t leave this room without being changed.”

Local friends please join us at a “birthday party” fundraiser for bringing Katie home from China. The Gulnac family has said Yes to adopt Katie. Please join us for Pork BBQ and help celebrate Avi and bring Katie home. Saturday the 29th at Fairland Brethren in Christ Church Lebanon Pa 2-4 pm eat in or take out all by donation to Dan and Jess Gulnac for Katie.

Anyone not local we are using Avi’s voice to raise funds for the building of Tin Tin’s House in the Philippines and the purchase of a home in Romania for a dear friend with a special needs sister. Please pray and help by donating at www.paypal.me/tingministries
