Destitute.

Destitute (adjective)

Not possessing the necessaries of life; in a condition of want; needy; without possessions or resources; very poor – Webster Dictionary

Today Brian and I were studying Matthew 19 and specifically verses 21-22

We spent time reading many different Bible versions of these same verses.

Many of the verses used the word poor in verse 2 but then we came upon the International Standard Version and the word for poor was DESTITUTE!

Matthew 19:21-22 International Standard Version Jesus told him, “If you want to be perfect, go and sell what you own and give the money to the destitute, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come back and follow me.”

But when the young man heard this statement he went away sad, because he had many possessions.

Upon hearing the word DESTITUTE we both immediately thought of our dear sister Sake! She is destitute and needs our help! Can you help us to help her.

Go reread the definition of destitute. Sake and her children have nothing- absolutely nothing- not even the freedom of life. She is a widow with 4 young children and she had been injured and is now disabled. She is forced to make bricks just to eat and now recently her tiny home and few belongings all burned in a fire. She and her children have the clothes on their backs and whatever food others give them to eat. They are suffering much hardship.

They are destitute!

They need our immediate assistance!

  • Food $100
  • Clothing $75
  • A place to sleep – a home $60
  • Cots $40
  • Fan $60
  • Freedom $800 and then education $120

They have none of the above.

Any amount – nothing is too small or too big! Your prayers are 🔑 key so please pray and share if you have a desire to be a Voice for the Voiceless!

God bless you. Thank you!
