The Shoes Off His Feet

“Some years ago, when [Andriy] came to church, he looked and was dressed awfully. Pastor Misha was so sad […] He took off his shoes and gave it to Andrei. It was just one and last pair of shoes that our pastor had. Later […Andrei] said: “I was so ashamed, I felt terrible, but no one helped me, only your pastor took off your shoes and gave it to me.“
Reading this, I sat in silence. When Andriy said he felt ashamed, I know I cannot begin to imagine this feeling. Yet, how many other orphans face the same shame? As Bible Orphan Ministry shares, how many orphans die before the age of thirty?

Though there were many other people who could have helped Andriy, but he himself said it was only the pastor who helped. He took the shoes off his feet and gave them to Andriy. This is the truth of following Christ. If it is in our power to help someone – will we? You may say: “Yes, we should help others. But this is an extreme case I won’t come across in my life.”
What if the Lord is waiting for us to “go and visit the orphans and widows in their distress?” (James 1:27). We have the resources – five dollars, ten dollars. Maybe the Lord is calling us to give of ourselves.
The pastor didn’t have to give his own shoes. But when God placed a need in front of him, he responded, truly following Proverbs 3:28. “If you can help your neighbor now, don’t say, “Come back tomorrow, and then I’ll help you.” Has the Lord placed a need in front of us? Have we responded, or tried to ignore it and go on our way?
Thank you to those who helped pay Andriy’s funeral costs. He accepted Christ the day before he died! Please read this post from BOM. Our friends shared these words from Andriy’s brother Misha: “Dear friends, thank you for your help and prayers. I felt very strongly that you were praying for me for my brother. Thank you friends for your financial help. And thanks for the prayers again! It’s very hard to talk for me now. Friends, thank you for everything! Amen.”

Big, Big Announcement…from Bible Orphan Ministry

Guest Post:

Well. It is officially! Bible Orphan Ministry have started to partnering with a wonderful American charity, Ting Ministries! Yay! Awesome blessing!!!

All donations tax deductible and 100% goes to BOM! Isn`t it amazing???
We are super excited!!!! God is soooo good all the time!!!

I’ll start from the beginning. A few weeks ago, we were informed that we can no longer use PayPal. Oh no!!! Again??? As you know exactly one year ago, we had this problem. But thank God everything was decided by God’s grace! We are so grateful to the person, who helped BOM with this issue. Our gratitude never will be enough!!!

So, when we were informed this news. I was ok. But the next day, the fear came into my heart. Oh, this sinful and weak flesh… Hundreds of questions were spinning in my head. What to do? Where to find the way? What, if this will not work out for us and many more. I felt so helpless. But I kept repeating in my heart, I should trust my God, it means He is preparing something special… I always remembered one of my favorite Bible verse (Romans 8:28)“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”  I should trust, even it is difficult, even if there is no hope and no way out, I should trust my Saviour. Even it is not easy But I should. The next day, the perfect peace of God and calm filled my heart. I am so thankful Him! I “knew” that our Heavenly Father has prepared something special. But what??? I did not know what to do, where to write… There were some thoughts, but I felt that this is not what God wants for us…

Thus we have for you a great announcement! 🙂 We are so very excited that it seems that my heart will jump out of my chest and I want jump with joy!It happened so fast that I can not believe it! My fear about some of the issues have been completely in vain! That’s what I was afraid or worried, God showed me mercy and grace. Through small details I see the hand and will of God in this matter! This has just blown my mind how God works!!! We are thrilled and so excited to work with our new partners and friends, Ting Ministris!

Dear friends, if you have any difficulties with the health, at work, housing, family, friends, neighbors, children, anywhere. Just trust Him! All work together for good!!! Our Heavenly Father is good and loving! He’s an amazing alive God!!! We are so blessed and  humble to serve Him!!! Just tears. Tears of joy are streaming down my cheeks from the goodness and mercy of the Lord Jesus. My love to all ♥♥♥

Needle-less to Say

Last night we chased Daddy out of the house to plan a surprise– to sing his favorite Christmas song! Forty takes later including: hair pulling, dogs stealing Christmas ornaments, a sister picking her nose through a whole video, a cat bursting through the sign, another sister picking up the sign and hitting us on the head, Avi crying at my singing and Mom trying to snap some Christmas pictures in between… after all that, we finally got one video! Dad came home very curious as to why there were pine needles all over the floor (we had moved the tree and put it back). Needle-less (pun intended) to to say, it was a very eventful two hours! Please SHARE this video and to learn about our even bigger surprise to bless my Dad this Christmas, go to: www.youcaring.com/surprisehome

Thanks WPGM Radio and Matthew James for spreading the word about the Surprise Home through your podcast! Click here to go to the podcast page and then click on “Surprise Home” to listen. It was a pleasure to share the story a few days ago! After listening, please visit the YouCaring page at http://www.youcaring.com/surprisehome to find out more.

Also, be on the lookout for some more updates about the fundraiser, appearing in (again!) in the Milton Standard Journal as well as The Daily Item!

It is my desire through this fundraiser to honor my earthly father, commending him for the quiet strength and humility with which he cares for his family and for following the Lord’s calling in his life. I also want to glorify my heavenly Father by sharing His heart for the orphan. All I am today is from Him because as my dad says, “The Lord plucked you out of that orphanage for a reason, Sasha.” I hope you will consider helping me. Thank you.

Guest Post from The Blessing of Verity

From The Blessing of Verity…

Update: A Home for the Carpenters
Within the past few days, Sasha Carpenter has given newspaper, radio and television interviews, all while taking her final exams at Bucknell University.  She has made her parents’ ministry her own, with just as much passion as they have for special needs’ and older child adoption.  She’s not ashamed of her early history as an orphan; her past spurs her on to help other children in dire need, and now she’s raising funds for a suitable home for their family and ministry as a surprise for her dad.

I’d really like you to see the video of her television interview.  And then would you be willing to take a moment to share it on your social media outlets?  Just copy and paste the link below.  Thank you!
