Kilns are a place of hard labor; a prison.

Lives completely without hope and in full surrender to working off debt, sometimes not even their own, day in and out. Making bricks. Being slaves.
Then came freedom. Life. A community of believers and church.
If you have been following the work that our partners in Pakistan have been doing, you have been seeing the church being built. As most things built in Pakistan, it is being built out of bricks. The bricks that once held them captive are now building their refuge. This week, the handmade cross was erected onto the exterior of the church and illuminated as a beacon to the community.
I can’t help but rejoice as these dear brothers and sisters in Christ have taken that which once enslaved them to built a place of worship. The cross is a symbol of suffering and defeat but also of triumph and salvation! Praise the Lord for His great faithfulness to bring life and freedom in our places of death and bondage!
